Navigation Help

We have designed this site with you, the customer in mind. Quickly getting to anywhere on the site is easy by using the navigation bar on the left side of your screen (see image 1). Also you will see the links 1. Home 2. Current Order 3. CheckOut 4. Search 5. Help in the narrow green bar at the top of the page. Clicking on Home will take you back to the initial start page. If you click on Current Order you will be shown all the items currently in your shopping basket. You can then remove items, continue shopping or checkout. Click on checkout when you are finished and have all the items you wish to purchase in your basket. Search takes you to a page where you can type in any words and search the entire site for products. Clicking on Help brings you to this page. Any time you want a refresher on how to use the site click on Help.

Shopping Help

Shopping is both easy and secure at The Flyshop. All products are grouped into categories like Fly Lines or Books and Videos for example. Simply click on these links found on the left hand side of your screen to go to the appropriate page. As this site is database driven you should learn to use the full power of its design. When you click on Fly Lines for instance a page will load up with the first ten fly line entries found in the database. When you have viewed these you can click next for the next ten found or click on one of the numbers to move further down into the list.

The way to use this site to its full potential is to use the categories and sub-categories we have designed on the various product pages eg. in Fly Lines a drop down menu will appear at the top of the page (see image 2). The drop down menu will list all of the fly line manufacturers that we carry. For example Scientific Anglers, Teeny and Cortland. Use your mouse to select the brand that you wish to browse, a blue bar will highlight the selected choice and simply clicking will cause the next page to open.

Often when you open such a page you will get the first ten products displayed from that manufacturer, in this case Scientific Anglers, but you will also get another drop down menu (see image 3). This menu will further refine the search within the category selected i.e. Fly Lines > Scientific Anglers > ......... You will see the two series - 1. Mastery and 2. Professional. Clicking on Mastery will load the lines within that series, again the first ten entries in the series will load and you will again have another drop down menu allowing you to further refine down to sink tip, sinking or floating lines!

While this may sound complicated to those new to the internet it will take no more than a few minutes to become comfortable with the whole process. Another couple of functions well worth trying are the search engines built into the site. Firstly there is the Search link. This opens a page where you can search using any words across the whole site or limited to categories. For example you could type Goulburn River in search the whole site. This would bring up rods, books, flies, videos etc related to the Goulburn River. You could further refine it by choosing a category from the menu e.g. dry flies. This would search the database and only load the flies for the Goulburn River. (See Image 5)

The Advanced Search function (see image 6), located at the bottom of all pages, is a powerful tool that allows you to search using all or any of the listed categories. Search by keywords and/or Category and/or Manufacturer and/or Vendor and/or Date Added to site and /or Priced between and/or Items on Sale. This gives a very precise result. For instance you could search for 5 weight rods, in Fly Rods, by G.Loomis, priced between $400-$525. This quickly allows you to find exactly what you are looking for.

When you find a product you want to know more about simply click on its photo. This will load the detailed product page. Once there read all the latest information on the goods. If you wish to purchase simple follow the easy system we have put in place. Some products require you to just type in the quantity and then click on order while others ask for selections such as size, colour etc before filling in the quantity and pressing order. You will find it is very easy and intuitive. If you have problems call us on Free Call 1800 458 111 and we will either walk you through the process or take your order via the phone. It's that easy.

Each time you select a product a confirmation window opens telling you have just ordered X amount of product Y and then allows you to continue shopping from where you were. When you have finished shopping and wish to purchase the goods please click on Checkout located in the Green menu bar at the top of the page.

This will open up your shopping basket for you to confirm, modify or delete. A postage and handling fee of $6.20 will be set by default. Still on this page you will also need to decide whether you want to pay via Credit Card or Fax. Click on Finalise My Fly Shop Order to move to the next step. Please follow either of the two possible scenarios listed below 1. Credit Card Transaction or 2. Fax Transaction

Credit Card Transaction

Step 1- After selecting Checkout you are then taken to the secure section of our site and asked for your contact details. Please fill in all the fields that are required. Be sure to include a valid email address so we can contact you regarding your order. In the Special Instructions field put in anything that you think we may need to know. For example you may not want us to phone the Home Phone Number and accidentally spoil the surprise for someone! Return customers simply enter your email and password in the Returning Customer Log In form. When you have filled all your details Click on Complete Order to continue.

Step 2 - Here you are required to verify the details you have entered and then to enter your Credit Card Details. This page also uses 128 Bit encryption. Once you have selected your credit card type, and entered the name, number and expiry date on the card you must click Verify. The transaction then takes place.

Step 3 - A message alerting you as to whether the transaction was a success or failure will then be shown. An order number will also be displayed as well as the contents of your order. Please print this page as a temporary receipt. An email from us will also confirm our receipt of the order. END OF PROCESS

Fax Transaction

Step 1 - After selecting Checkout you are asked for your contact details. Please fill in all the fields that are required. Be sure to include a valid email address so we can contact you regarding your order. As you have chosen to purchase by FAX please add your Credit Card Details in the Special Instructions Field as well as any other special instructions you may have (e.g. put in anything that you think we may need to know. For example if it is a gift you may want us to wrap it differently or not ring the Home Phone Number and accidentally spoil the surprise for someone), then print the page. Finally Fax the printed sheet to us. We will notify you of the success or otherwise of the transaction by either phone, fax or email. END OF PROCESS.
