When the Christmas beetle appears you had better have a good imitation to match. This fly has the bulk of the natural and takes advantage of the wonderful material that is peacock herl, to produce a very effective fly patter. Used mostly in large sizes it can also be used in the smaller versions as a generic beetle imitation. A must have if Christmas beetles are likely to be present. This fly is a little more delicate than other beetle patterns and care must be taken when extracting it from the fish so as to not damage it with your forceps.
