This fly is used extensively in Tasmania with Spencer Dishington's patterns bringing much fame to deer hair beetle patterns in general. And deservedly so. They float high all day, are visible on the water and have an intangible appeal as the trimmed deer hair catches and refracts the light, creating the illusion of life. On more than one occasion we have seen fish give it the close inspection and turn away only to turn straight back and take it. Whatever the reason it works and is highly recommended. Floats all day even in fast alpine creeks. In its smallest sizes is brilliant for selectively rising fish on a warm summer's day. Suggested Uses - rivers, lakes, streams, creeks, stillwaters, tasmania, dee lagoon
