"They're small and black" is a commonly heard around our way from April onwards. Tiny black midge hatch in their millions on a daily basis at this time of year on the Goulburn and Acheron Rivers. This is very difficult fishing to tough fish in low water conditions. Tiny flies and tippets are the only option and this pattern is the pick of them. Leave this one out at your peril.
