Initially designed as a Stonefly pattern the Montana nymph quickly established itself as a multi purposed nymph pattern. Used widely all over the country in many waters where Stonefly do not reside it still catches plenty of fish. Best fished down deep it can sometimes produce exceptional results fished upstream along undercut banks.
