This fly was passed onto me while drifting the Goulburn River by an American client. He swore by his variation of this well known pattern and for several seasons it just sat in one of my boxes. About five years ago (2004) I pulled it out and started fishing it. In one night during the caddis hatch the 'sample' fly caught a dozen fish. I don't know how many it caught over the following nights but suffice to say it looked very tattered. So after discussing it with the creator and got the green light, we sourced out a flytier to make them for us. This is another great fly not widely available commercially in this country with noone else having this actual tie. Great for blind fishing in faster water too.
