In the loop with Nella

Lake fishing is not our thing as you well know but we try. Here Nella is casting a #5 weight rod with a fifteen foot leader and two foot of tippet to a dragonfly feeding trout.   Getting the fly quickly into the ring of the rise is the trick.  This was later in the day.   In the morning session we fished midge pupa patterns which requires different casting skills.   Pupa fishing is all about the slow retrieve and depth.
