New Zealand in November

We have just returned from ten days in a wet and soggy lush green Southland with grass up to our knees.   No matter, we found water to fish even though everything was high and dirty.

This is the great thing about Southland  there is always some headwater rivers that are clear.      What made this trip even greater all the fish caught were on dry flies.    Am I making this up?  No.

Our range of duns in small sizes did the trick on all fish, however, a few wanted the Royal Wulff. All the fish caught were sighted, or rising.   The fish and their fighting quality were outstanding due to some snow melts occurring in the catchments.    Many of the regular Southland fishers will not believe us when we tell you we had eight days of no wind weather.
