Our fly of the month for February BH Gold Tungsten Flashback Pheasant Tail Nymph

It's a mouthful and it has all the elements for success when nymph fishing.  Fly shops around the World carry a massive range of bead head nymphs.   They work but why such a variety  -  glass beads, copper beads, brass beads, lead beads and tungsten beads all doing various things by their weight.  Then there is the multitude of coloured beads which do not necessarily copy the body colour of the nymph.    Nymphs come in many colours;  black, brown, grey, green and shades there off.  There is also a school of fly fishermen who like bright coloured nymphs rather than the natural colours.  Bright being purple, red, orange, and any other colour of the rainbow.

The Question is.    What makes our fly of the month  the                                                  BH Gold Tungsten Flashback Pheasant Tail Nymph one of the best nymphs to use anywhere in the World.

Lets break it down a bit.     Nymphs live most of their lives on the bottom of the river.  Dark coloured stones and algae lets the pheasant tail colour blend in.    The flashback is the copy of the bubble that forms to float the nymph to the surface, and the gold bead shines attracting the fish.    The tungsten keeps it nearer the river bottom where the nymphs hang out.

Why we like our fly so much is that it has the most common elements of nymphs found throughout the World.                                                                                     We carry a similar fly being the BH Black Tungsten Pheasant Tail Nymph which is also very natural looking.
