Red Tag Fly Fishers Club

Red Tag Fly Fishers Club is 100 years old this year 2022 and they very kindly asked me to do a talk on the ins and outs of my pet river, The Goulburn River.   With thirty years guiding on it I must know a few secrets.   We covered flow rates, water temperature,  Spring, Summer, and Autumn hatches.   Fish stocking and how fisheries management is building a major brown trout fishery.  Plus the relationship of the feeder streams and natural recruitment.  Fly sizes opened up a lively discussion on big verses little and little won with a few comments on failing eyesight.  I asked if members would bring along some of their fly boxes and I was impressed with quite a few of their ties.   Question time was a reward for me with the questions being well focused on flies.
