This fly is relatively new. It was designed and developed over a number of years by American tier John Barr who did not consider it finished till 1996. It was tied out of copper wire which gave the fly a much faster sinking ability. This fly is now found in many colours. The green Copper John is representing the body colour of the green caddis pupa even though the profile of this nymph appears to be a Stonefly pattern. It has a proven success rate in rivers that produce the commonly known Snowflake Caddis. Don't leave home without it.
