What the hell is going on? The Goulburn is still not flowing at a high level but is higher than spring.
What's the water temperature now? Its the same, but there are a lot more insects about. Bloody tailraces. The water is crystal clear and the trout are rising. White caddis are fluttering about.
Are the rising fish eating them or the emerger? What fly to try. Bloody tailraces. In a bubble line a trout snout pops out and I can see duns drifting down.
A trout rising under a tree. What is it eating? Its not eating dry flies but emerges, probably caddis. Bloody tailraces. So much action on the river perhaps some no brainer nymph fishing will do. Small is good #16 and #18.
- Best Practice Tip: If its like this go fly fishing more often.
