Yes you guessed it another bloody tailrace with gravel and weed beds below the dam. The Tumut river flows through the Blowering Dam hydro power station and has more constant water levels than the Swampy river. I'm not sure why this is, but perhaps its the complicated storage system above the dam for the reserved water.
The Antchovy pattern for Spring streamer fishing is a good choice and then its the usual Tungsten Bead nymph under an indicator fly. A Royal Stimulator is a good floating fly for this kind of fishing. Caddis and small duns will be on the job - size #16 and #18.
Best Practice Tip: Long droppers and Tungsten Bead nymphs.
